Jennifer Emily is the founder and director of inquiries at Red Wagon Inquiries. She is a licensed private investigator in Texas and a former investigative journalist with decades of experience uncovering facts, assessing credibility, and documenting what actually happened—not what people claim.
Before founding Red Wagon Inquiries, Jennifer directed investigations at another private investigations agency. Earlier in her career, she covered courts, criminal justice, and public safety at The Dallas Morning News, where accuracy was not optional, and every fact had to withstand scrutiny. She was also the Public Safety Editor and Breaking News Editor. That background continues to shape how investigations are conducted today: carefully, independently, and with a clear understanding of how information may ultimately be used.
Jennifer brings more than 25 years of experience conducting interviews, locating and analyzing records, and performing investigative fieldwork. Her work spans criminal, civil, and family law matters; due-diligence research; sensitive interviews; workplace and human resources investigations; and undercover assignments. She approaches each case with an emphasis on verification and documentation, so clients are not left guessing which information can be relied upon.
As a journalist, Jennifer followed criminal cases from the streets to the execution chamber, reported from New York in the aftermath of September 11, examined how children charged with serious crimes grow up in adult prisons, and documented what occurred inside a Dallas hospital during the city’s Ebola crisis. These experiences reinforced the importance of asking the right questions early and confirming answers through evidence—principles that remain central to her investigative work.
Jennifer holds a BA in Journalism with a concentration in Sociology from Indiana University and is pursuing an MS in Criminology at the University of Texas at Dallas.
The red wagon pictured above is the original. She pulled her younger brother across her great-grandparents’ farm. It reflects the approach behind Red Wagon Inquiries: steady, hands-on work, done carefully and thoroughly, to get answers clients can trust.
